Museum of Toruń Gingerbread

The Museum of Toruń Gingerbread is a branch of the District Museum that traces the city's centuries-old baking tradition inside the building of the oldest gingerbread factory in Europe. It is the largest gingerbread museum in Europe, and people come for its collection of historic wooden moulds and for the setting itself, the former factory of the Weese family, where Toruń's most famous export was made for generations.

The museum holds the biggest collection of wooden gingerbread moulds in Central Europe, spanning the 17th to the 20th centuries. These carved boards were used to press patterns and figures into the dough, and together they show how Toruń bakers turned a simple sweet into decorative craft over hundreds of years.
