What to see at the European Bison Show Reserve
The reserve was created so travellers could see the European bison without the long guided treks needed to spot one in the wild. The large enclosures also hold elk, wild boar, wolves, lynx, roe deer and konik horses, plus the żubroń, a cross between bison and domestic cattle. It is the most dependable wildlife stop near Białowieża for families and short visits.
Where the bison reserve is near Białowieża
The reserve lies on the Hajnówka-Białowieża road, about 3 km before you reach the village, and is easy to combine with a cycle along the forest trails. It is run as part of Białowieża National Park.
