Inside the Poznański Palace
The palace was the home of Izrael Poznański, who made a fortune in cotton and poured much of it into the residence beside his mills. The interiors run to a grand dining room and ballroom beneath two domes, and the museum sets exhibitions on Łódź's history and a Polish masters gallery within the original rooms.
The Museum of the City of Łódź
Since 1975 the palace has held the Museum of the City of Łódź, covering the city's rise as a textile powerhouse alongside temporary shows. A restoration finished in 2020, tied to the bicentenary of modern Łódź, returned the facade and interiors to full effect.
Where the Poznański Palace is in Łódź
The palace stands at Ogrodowa 15, directly next to the Manufaktura complex that grew out of Poznański's former factory. The two make an easy combined visit on the northern edge of the centre.
