Zelazowa Wola (Chopin birthplace)
Fryderyk Chopin was born in this manor about 54 km west of Warsaw in 1810. The Chopin Museum runs a seasonal direct bus from central Warsaw that takes around an hour, and piano recitals play in the park on summer weekends. By car the drive is roughly an hour; by rail you can reach Sochaczew and cover the final 8 km by taxi.

Poland's third city lies about 135 km southwest, and fast trains from Warszawa Centralna reach Lodz Fabryczna in around 1 hour 20 minutes. Piotrkowska Street runs for more than four kilometres past 19th century facades, and the Manufaktura complex fills a former textile mill with museums, restaurants and open squares.

This Renaissance town on the Vistula sits about 150 km southeast. There is no direct train, so most visitors drive in roughly 2 hours 15 minutes or combine a train to Pulawy with a local bus, about 2 hours 45 minutes each way. The memorial at the former Nazi German extermination camp stands about 110 km northeast. Trains reach Malkinia in a little over an hour, from where a taxi covers the final stretch to the site. The 19th century fortress sits where the Narew meets the Vistula, about 45 km northwest in Nowy Dwor Mazowiecki.
